Ginger’s is a Not-for-Profit, for the FLINTA* community

From the beginning, Ginger's set out to tackle loneliness and isolation – to create real community and genuine connections, not just events people attend once and disappear from.

What started as one slightly sleep-deprived idea has grown into a whole ecosystem centred around visibility, connection, and belonging.

Ginger’s celebrates the best of lesbian culture while embracing people of all gender minorities

Today, Ginger’s is a national pop-up event series with events held in cities across Aotearoa New Zealand. We’re the winner of the NZ Events Association’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiative of 2025, and we’ve built something that goes far beyond the dance floor.

Our events include panel discussions, the legendary Ginger’s Bush Camp, Big Lesbo Boat Parties, and the global Ginger’s Lesbian Podcast.

Bush Camp is exactly what it sounds like: around 100 sapphics in dorms and tents in the bush at secret locations across Aotearoa. The weekends include workshops, outdoor activities, hiking, waterfalls, campfires, camp rangers, incredible catered meals, and a full Ginger’s party with DJs and arm wrestling.

The Ginger’s Lesbian Podcast speaks to queer voices worldwide and now reaches listeners across New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the US, and the UK.

Outside the events, Ginger’s has built a large and active WhatsApp community with dedicated groups across regions in New Zealand and Australia, plus interest-based spaces including Late Bloomers, DIY Dykes, Gardening, Book Club, Neurodivergent Space, POC Space, Disability Space, and Community Support. These groups are moderated with respect and love at their core, and exist so people can connect in ways that feel normal, ongoing, and useful.

Ginger’s is more than events, Ginger’s is a Movement
